NAVIGO – Polish Road Map is a road map available on CD, designed to operate on PC computers.
NAVIGO is a detailed, computer map with a geographical panorama of the whole country, drawn up on the foundation of the same database as known on the Polish road atlas market COPERNICUS series. NAVIGO also features detailed maps of the 18 biggest Polish cities showing urban areas in a way that enables finding every address. As a whole it forms a uniform and coherent geographical database.
The functional features of the NAVIGO software allow it to, among others:
• Route – planning by defining the starting point, possible passing points and target point (the shortest or fastest route);
• Searching for places in Poland and tracing addresses in 18 of the largest cities with utmost precision;
• Searching for interesting places in neighborhood of chosen regions or routes, e.g. all petrol station within one kilometer radius from the Warsaw - Łódź route;
• Distance measurement with the use of broken line – tool useful also for bicyclists and pedestrians;
• Adding favourite places on the route (previously visited roadside bar, favourite parking lot);
• Planning the day's journey by defining starting time, resting time, meal brakes or sightseeing.
NAVIGO is able to precisely calculate the distance between route points, the time needed to cover the distance between them as well as estimating the cost of traveling the planned route. Navigo is a geographical information system for everyone.
NAVIGO Professional – Road Map consists of a couple of twin applications, one of which is compatible with PC computer (also with a laptop computer), the other one – with its portable equivalent – a Pocket PC system PDA. Both these applications allow uncomplicated handling of the GPS satellite navigation transmitters, which gives the product new meaning for the mobile receivers.
NAVIGO Professional offers the functional features of the Navigo Standard for PC platform, and moreover:
• The ability of the software to communicate with the GPS transmitter – your position is displayed as a cursor on the map, and you always know where exactly you are and what is the distance to the nearest gas station or favourite restaurant;
• The ability to export the data with your ready planned route directly from the PC computer to the Pocket PC platform – you do not have to store the whole database on your Pocket PC;
• The ability of the exchange of the POI user data between the PC and Pocket PC platform – the data gathered can upgrade your database stored on your PC;
And soon also:
• Voice communication;
• Recalculating the route;
• Rotating the map according to the current azimuth.
